Client: Large local authority group, 650 users

To develop a system to manage IT resources (both hardware and software)

The Group is split into 7 main Service areas covering 650 employees with about 1000 hardware and 350 software assets.

The resources were originally managed by each separate department in a variety of formats including spread sheets and word documents. Inaccuracies, missing information and duplication where common problems which caused operational difficulties and contributed to unnecessary expenditure.

The main needs of the system were to track the complex range of equipment and user base, to facilitate efficient use of the assets and to enable compliance with software licensing.
